PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing a transparent ceramic for a Faraday rotator composed of rare earth compound oxide, smaller in residual strain inside of a sintered compact than that obtained by dry molding represented by press molding, and excellent in transparency and extinction ratio performance.
SOLUTION : A method of producing a transparent ceramic for a Faraday rotator composed of a sintered compact of cubic crystalline rare earth compound oxide includes a centrifugal molding process of encapsulating a slurry composed of a dispersoid containing a raw material powder for sintering, and a dispersant in a molding vessel, and separating into the dispersoid and the dispersant inside the molding vessel by centrifugal separation to form the dispersoid containing the raw material powder for sintering into a molded body having a predetermined shape.
