PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a wavelength conversion member and a production method thereof.
SOLUTION : The wavelength conversion member is provided that includes : a phosphor including at least one kind selected from a nitride-based phosphor and an oxynitride-based phosphor; and aluminate including at least one kind selected from the group consisting of a rare earth aluminate and an alkaline earth metal aluminate. Furthermore, the production method of a wavelength conversion member is provided that comprises : preparing a molded body obtained by mixing the phosphor including at least one kind selected from the nitride-based phosphor and the oxynitride-based phosphor and an aluminate containing at least one kind selected from the group consisting of the rare earth aluminate and the alkaline earth metal aluminate; and firing the molded body, thus the wavelength conversion member including the phosphor and the aluminate is obtained.
