PURPOSE : A diatomite filter and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to prevent the occurrence of odor and mold in the sewage drain due to the food waste by controlling the humidity and remove the odor through the micropore of diatomite. CONSTITUTION : A diatomite filter comprises 10-50 parts by weight of adhesive resin and 100 parts by weight of diatomite material which mixed the diatomite and the clay in rate of 1 : 1-1 : 1/2. The manufacturing method of diatomite filter comprises the following steps. A step of forming slurry by mixing 100 parts by weight of diatomite material and 10-30 parts by weight of water (S10); a step of forming falsely shaped body by filling the mold with slurry (S20); a step of drying the falsely shaped body (S30); a step of absorbing the adhesive resin to inside by immersing the dried falsely shaped body in the adhesive resin solution of 40-80% concentration (S40); and a step of heat-treating by letting the solvent of adhesive resin solution evaporate and curing react in the false shaped body with adhesive resin (S50).
