FIELD : chemistry.
SUBSTANCE : in one embodiment, such material contains a primary oxide which contains primary oxide cations, said primary oxide cations including cerium and hafnium, and a secondary oxide containing a secondary oxide cation selected from a group consisting of rare-earth elements yttrium and scandium. In another embodiment, the material contains a primary oxide containing a primary oxide cation selected from a group consisting of cerium and hafnium, and a secondary oxide containing two secondary oxide cations, where the first secondary oxide cation includes praseodymium or ytterbium and the second secondary oxide cation includes a cation selected from a group consisting of rare-earth elements yttrium and scandium. The material in the entire article has overall porosity of less than about 5 vol. %.
EFFECT : invention provides material having low wettability, which promotes stable droplet condensation, is stable at high temperatures and has good mechanical properties.
