PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To suppress fluctuation of grain size and improve luminance of a phosphor when producing an LSN phosphor.
SOLUTION : There is disclosed a method for producing a phosphor expressed by general formula (1) : LnaSibNc : Zd, which is obtained by firing a raw material powder including a powder preparation containing prescribed amounts of respective elemental sources and a compound having at least the same matrix as the phosphor expressed by general formula (1) in an amount of 0.2 to 10 wt.% with respect to the powder preparation. In the formula (1), a, b, c and d are numbers satisfying a+d=3, 5.4≤b≤6.6, 10≤c≤12, and d>0; Ln is an element selected from the group consisting of rare-earth metals and alkaline earth metals, provided that La is indispensable; and Z is an activator element.
