PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a device for adjusting a water storage amount for a paddy field which automatically stores a prescribed amount of water by making the paddy field function as "a paddy field dam" so as to prevent rainwater from flowing into the river during heavy rain. SOLUTION : The device for adjusting a water storage amount for a paddy field is structured as follows : a doorway for inserting an earth-retaining plate is formed at a position facing a pair of side walls; a doorway for inserting a water storage amount-adjusting plate is formed at a position almost intermediate between the doorway for inserting the earth-retaining plate and the vertical walls; the earth-retaining plate having a height almost the same as that of soil surface and a farming water level-adjusting plate having a height defined as a farming water level when placed on the earth-retaining plate, are vertically inserted into the doorway for inserting the earth-retaining plate; and the water storage amount-adjusting plate the upper end of which is formed so as to have a height almost the same as the water storage level defined as any height according to the growth condition of paddy and at the lower part of which a drainage amount-adjusting hole is bored, is vertically inserted into the doorway for inserting the water storage amount-adjusting plate. When the amount of rainfall is normal, the rainwater is discharged to a discharge path via a discharging pipe to keep the paddy field have the farming water level. When having heavy rainfall, the rainwater is stored up to the highest water storage level defined as a height equivalent to an amount obtained by adding an overflow height to the water storage amount-adjusting height.
