PURPOSE : A method for extracting Nd from a rare earth magnet is provided to enable Nd, which is rare earth metal, to be recovered from a rare earth magnet at high productivity.CONSTITUTION : A method for extracting Nd from a rare earth magnet includes the following steps of : dissolving a Nd-Mg alloy piece with acid; adding a reagent forming a Nd complex compound into the solution in which the Nd-Mg alloy piece is dissolved by acid; filtering and separating Nd complex compound precipitates from the solution; and obtaining Nd oxide by heating the filtered and separated Nd complex compound precipitates.[Reference numerals] (AA) Dissolve with HCI; (BB) Solution mixed with an Mg-Nd alloy scrap; (CC) Add a reagent; (DD) Form an Nd-oxalate complex; (EE) Filter and separate the deposited Nd complex; (FF) Heat treatment in air at 450-850°C; (GG) Nd oxide; (HH) Method to refine the Nd oxideCOPYRIGHT KIPO 2013 |
