PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an optical modulator in which flexibility of a flexible circuit board is increased and mounting property and crosstalk characteristics of an optical modulator module are improved while suppressing degradation in electric characteristic as electric lines.
SOLUTION : The optical modulator houses an optical modulator element in a chassis; and a flexible circuit board is connected in at least a part of electric lines between the optical modulator and an external circuit board. The flexible circuit board includes two or more electric lines arranged in parallel to each other, in which each electric line is one of a microstrip (MS) line, a coplanar (CPW) line and a grounded coplanar (G-CPW) line including a CPW line and a back grounded electrode, or a combination of them; and a slit (316, 317) is formed along the electric line in a part between the electric lines.
