PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a chain in which friction loss with the chain is reduced by devising a shape of the back surface of a link plate, and durability with the chain is improved by reducing an amount of friction on the link plate and a connection pin while improving durability with a chain guide.SOLUTION : A silent chain 100 travels in slidably contact with a shoe of a chain guide in a state that a connection pin connects a guide row and a non-guide row bendably and alternately in a longitudinal direction of the chain. A first link plate constituting the guide row and a second link plate constituting the non-guide row include a sliding link plate 150 having a back surface 154 in slidably contact with the travelling surface of the shoe. The cross section of a curved surface part 154a of a back surface 154 in a longitudinal direction of the chain and a width direction of the chain includes a substantially arc-shaped curved line Ce in a longitudinal direction and a curved line Ct in a width direction. A radius of curvature Rt of the curved line Ct in the width direction is not smaller than a radius of curvature Re of the curved line Ce in the longitudinal direction. |
