PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a human stomach-lung cancer cell growth inhibitor.
SOLUTION : The cancer cell growth inhibitor includes a flavanone monomer in licorice represented by formula : liquiritigenin as an essential ingredient. Its inhibition action to a human liver cancer cell (SMMC7721) is 1×10-5 mol/L in 100 μg/mL, and it is equal to or above the inhibition action of adriamycin to a human lung cancer cell (A549) and a human stomach cancer cell (SGC-823).
