PURPOSE : A method for restoring a scarce signal of a finite field and a device thereof are provided to use prior information for a purpose signal and statistical information for noise, thereby effectively removing the noise of the signal. CONSTITUTION : An input unit (210) receives signals including a measurement signal which compresses and senses a purpose signal. A probability updating unit (230) updates discrete probability information of purpose and measurement signal elements by exchanging the discrete probability information of the purpose and measurement signal elements based on relation between the purpose signal and the measurement signal. A maximal posterior estimation unit (250) calculates the final posterior probability of the purpose signal element based on a prior probability of the purpose and measurement signal elements and restores the purpose signal by estimating the final posterior probability.
