PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an intake device of a vehicular engine which can protect a pedestrian and suppress the generation of battery damage when the pedestrian contacts with a front of a vehicle, and can improve the engine performance by removing a foreign matter of snow etc. from outside air to send only air to an air cleaner.
SOLUTION : The engine 3 and a battery 4 are arranged along the vehicle width direction, the air cleaner 51 is arranged in the rear of the battery 4, and an intake duct 52 is connected with the air cleaner 51 to extend forward. The intake duct 52 includes : a horizontal part 52D that faces a top surface of the battery 4 to cover it and is formed to extend in the vehicle front-back direction; and a vertical part 52E that bends from a front end of the horizontal part 52D and is formed to vertically and downwardly extend along a front side face 44 of the battery 4. A lower end of the vertical part 52E serves as an air inlet 52F that is positioned above a lower end edge 44A of the front side face 44 of the battery 4 and vertically and downwardly opens.
