PURPOSE : An oxynitride phosphor is provided to have excellent structural stability, excellent luminescent brightness, and a crystal structure capable of easily improving luminance efficiency.CONSTITUTION : An oxynitride phosphor is characterized by that rare earth elements are dissolved in a base material represented by chemical formula : Ca_15Si_20O_10N_30. The rare earth elements are one or more selected from Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Dy, Tb, Ho, Er, Tm, and Yb. The base material has a cubic crystal lattice structure according to peaks of X ray diffraction patterns. A light emitting device includes a light emitting device which emits excited light; and a wavelength conversion part which emits visible rays by absorbing the excitation light.
