PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide new fluorescent glass exhibiting green fluorescence with high luminance even when being excited with ultraviolet light having a wavelength of ≥365 nm by a UV light emitting diode (LED), and also having excellent durability. SOLUTION : The fluorescent glass emitting a green light by being excited by ultraviolet light contains, by mol, ≥85% SiO2, 0.04-0.75% Tb, 0.09-1.5% Ce and a rare earth element 0-2 times of Tb quantity, is obtained by firing porous glass and is characterized in that the content of Ce is larger than that of Tb.
