PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a multilayer ceramic capacitor having excellent high-temperature load life.
SOLUTION : A dielectric layer 5 is made up of a sintered body of ceramic particles 11, the internal electrode layer 7 is composed of metal and ceramic component, the ceramic particles 11 is made up of a core part C and a shell part S surrounding the periphery of the core part C, and at least a rare earth element (RE) is contained in the shell part S. Out of the ceramic particles 11, ceramic particles 11 contacting the internal electrode layer 7 have a thickness t1 of the shell part S on a side contacting the internal electrode layer 7 greater than a side which does not contact the internal electrode layer 7, in the thickness direction of the dielectric layer 5.
