PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnet with which the amount of rare earth elements to be used is reduced further than the prior arts and of which the coercive force is high, and to provide a treatment liquid required for manufacturing the magnet.
SOLUTION : A treatment liquid is comprised of a first solution forming a first film on the surface of a rare earth iron-based magnet and a second solution forming a second film on the surface of the rare earth iron-based magnet in which the first film has been formed. The first solution contains an organic metal compound, and the second solution contains a heavy rare earth element and fluorine. The temperature to start decomposing the organic metal compound that the first solution contains is lower than the temperature to start forming an acid fluorine compound containing fluorine that the second solution contains.
