The camera has an inspection and/or sanitation unit fastened to a cable, and a reel receiving the cable. Cable length detecting and displaying device detects and displays length of the cable released from the reel. A set of magnetic codings is provided at preset intervals in the cable. A detection unit detects the codings, and the cable has plastic strips running in longitudinal direction. The cable designed as a sliding rod is made of plastic partially enriched with hard magnetic material. The material consists of ceramic ferrite or rare earth material. The detection unit is selected from a group consisting of Hall sensor, anisotrop magneto resistive (AMR) sensor, giant magneto resistance (GMR) sensor or giant magneto impedance (GMI) sensor. |
