PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a production method for surface-treated phosphor capable of much improving moisture resistance without decreasing a fluorescent property and capable of imparting excellent dispersibility. SOLUTION : The production method for a surface-treated phosphor containing an alkaline-earth metal, includes a step 1 for mixing the phosphor with a surface-treating liquid and a step 2 for performing the surface treating reaction for the phosphor, wherein the surface-treating liquid comprises water, a fluoride comprising fluorine and at least one specific element selected from silicon and an element of groups 4-6 in the periodic table, and the content of the fluoride in the surface-treating liquid is 1.0×10-5-5.0×10-1 mol per unit surface area (m2) of the phosphor.
