PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an image diagnostic apparatus capable of continuing scanning without stopping even if a failure occurs in a part of a transmission path formed between a rotating body and a support body to transmit scan data, and maintaining the quality of an acquired detection image of a subject.
SOLUTION : The image diagnostic apparatus has a rotating body 1 rotating around a subject, and a supporting body 2 for rotatably supporting the rotating body 1. The apparatus transmits the scan data of the subject acquired by a scan data acquiring section 4 provided on the rotating body 1 from the rotating body 1 side to the supporting body 2 side by using a plurality of transmission paths 20 formed between the rotating body 1 and the supporting body 2. In the apparatus, when it is detected that an abnormality occurs in the scan data received by the supporting body 2, scan data stored in a scan data storing section 5 on the rotating body 1 in association with the scan data having a detected abnormality are re-transmitted to the supporting body 2 by using another one of the transmission paths 20 different from the transmission paths 20 used to transmit the scan data having the detected abnormality.
