Disclosed is a polycarbonate resin composition which is excellent in mechanical strength and heat resistance, while exhibiting high refractive index and low refractive index dispersion. Also disclosed is an optical component obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition. Specifically disclosed is a polycarbonate resin composition containing 0.1-200 parts by weight of a metal cluster (B), wherein a counter metal is bound to a center metal, which is composed of a rare earth metal, through an oxygen atom, per 100 parts by weight of a polycarbonate resin (A) having a viscosity average molecular weight of 4, 000-27, 000. Also specifically disclosed is an optical component obtained by molding the polycarbonate resin composition. Preferably, the center metal is composed of at least one element selected from the group consisting of yttrium and lanthanoid elements, and the counter metal is composed of at least one element selected from the group consisting of group 4 elements, group 5 elements and group 13 elements. |
