PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing an R-T-B-based sintered magnet, in which a heavy rare earth element RH is diffused from the surface of an R-T-B-based sintered magnet material thereinto.SOLUTION : A method for manufacturing an R-T-B-based sintered magnet comprises the steps of : preparing an R-T-B-based sintered magnet material; preparing alloy powder particles of 90 μm or less in size, which include 20-80 mass% of a heavy rare earth element RH; and preparing stirring auxiliary members of which the respective diameters are in a range of 0.5-4 mm. The method further comprises the steps of : feeding the R-T-B-based sintered magnet material, 2-15% of alloy powder particles to a weight of the R-T-B-based sintered magnet material, and 100-500% of the stirring auxiliary members to the weight of the R-T-B-based sintered magnet material into a process chamber; and rotating and/or swinging the process chamber while heating the process chamber, thereby continuously or intermittently moving the R-T-B-based sintered magnet material, the alloy powder particles and the stirring auxiliary members to perform an RH supply diffusion process.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 2 |
