PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of a rare earth magnet represented by a neodymium magnet (Nd2Fe14B) using a heat treatment method in which magnetic characteristics, especially coercive force can be enhanced, to provide a new rare earth magnet having a nanocrystalline structure.
SOLUTION : A manufacturing method of a nanocrystalline structure rare earth magnet including a crystal grain and a grain boundary phase comprises the steps of : forming a rapidly solidified thin strip including the nanocrystalline structure by quenching a molten metal composed of the rare earth magnet; obtaining a sintered compact by sintering the rapidly solidified thin strip; applying a heat treatment to the sintered compact at a temperature high enough to enable the grain boundary phase to diffuse or fluidize and low enough to prevent the crystal grain from coarsening; and quenching the heat-treated sintered compact at a cooling rate of 50°C/min or more until 200°C or less.
