PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of producing rare metal of high robustness with respect to a solution composition, including a process of removing impurities from a raw material solution.
SOLUTION : The method of producing rare metal includes steps (S11 to S14) of recovering a first residual liquid, steps (S15, S16) of extracting ReO4-, a step (S17) of back-extracting the same into a first eluent, steps (S18, S19) of collecting Re onto a cathode by way of electrolysis, a step (S20) of recovering a second residual liquid, steps (S21, S22) of adjusting hydrogen ion exponent in a range of not lower than pH 3 and lower than pH 5, steps (S23, S24) of extracting rare earth metal ion (Re3+), a step (S25) of back-extracting the same into a second eluent, a step (S26) of adding (COOH)2 to precipitate Re2(C2O4)3, steps (S27, S28) of converting it to a rare earth metal oxide (Re2O3), and steps (S29, S30) of collecting rare earth metal (Re) onto a cathode by way of molten salt electrolysis.
