PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To manufacture a ceramic heating element having excellent properties more easily than ever by printing a heat generation line consisting of a rare earth element for low temperature calcination on a substrate made from a ceramic material by calcining it and, after sticking a green sheet fast thereto to join them together, calcining the two sheets in the air in a low temperature calcination process.
SOLUTION : A manufacturing method includes : a first step of fabricating a ceramic substrate 10 from a ceramic material by calcining it and then forming a conduction through hole 12 in the ceramic substrate 10; a second step of forming a heat generation line 14 on the ceramic substrate 10 by screen-printing a low temperature calcination paste thereon; a third step of forming an electrode 16 by screen-printing a silver paste to the through hole 12; a fourth step of joining a green sheet 18 to the surface of the ceramic substrate 10, on which the heat generation line 14 is formed, by heating and pressurizing it thereto; a fifth step of calcining the ceramic substrate 10 and the green sheet 18 which have been joined together at low temperature to fabricate a substrate body 20; and a sixth step of brazing a lead wire 22, while being exposed to the air, to the electrode 16 of the substrate body 20 via filled metal.
