PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an earth retaining method for lowering working costs by greatly reducing working processes.
SOLUTION : In the earth retaining method for construction work to excavate ground deeper than a lower end 11a of an existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 to construct a new building when an underground water level WL is higher than a new flooring level 21, a water cut-off liquid agent 12 is poured along the outside of the existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 from a position upper than the lower end 11a of the existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 to an embedment position to form a water cut-off liquid agent layer 12a, an existing underground skeleton 17 is first demolished while leaving the existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 and a pressure resistant plate frame 18, mounting of a horizontal strut 19 to the inside of the existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 and the demolition of the existing underground skeleton 17a are repeated starting from the upper part in turn, the existing underground outer peripheral wall 11 is excavated at its lower part inside the water cut-off liquid agent layer 12a, and a concrete wall 20 for an earth-retaining reinforcement wall is formed on the lower part of the excavated existing underground outer peripheral wall 11.
