PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a permanent magnet type rotary electric machine at a low cost, by reducing the amount of rare earth magnet used.
SOLUTION : The permanent magnet type rotary electric machine comprises a stator, and a rotor provided on the inside of the stator through an air gap. The rotor includes a yoke formed by laminating a predetermined number of electromagnetic steel sheets punched into a predetermined shape, a field part provided on the outer peripheral surface of the yoke and consisting of a main magnet and an auxiliary magnet arranged in Halbach array, and an air gap provided at a predetermined position in the yoke facing the auxiliary magnet and suppressing magnetic flux leakage of the auxiliary magnet.
