PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method of operating electro-osmotic dewatering apparatus which can not only dehydrate and heat simultaneously to reduce the quantity of hydrated compound to be processed such as sludge, earth and sand or the like generated at an agricultural products processing factory and the like by using an electro-osmotic dewatering apparatus, but also terminate cyst nematodes in sludge, earth and sand or the like.
SOLUTION : A conveyor belt 1 comprising filter cloths endlessly bridges rollers 2 and 3 to be endlessly rotated along an upper surface of a cathode 4. Anode units 21-25 are arranged in a conveyance direction of the conveyor belt 1, and an anode plate 33 is disposed on a lower surface thereof. The electro-osmotic dewatering apparatus is operated so that the temperature of the hydrated compound to be processed is 70°C or more in 30 min or more during dehydration process and transfer/storage one.
