PURPOSE : A water purifier and a method for washing the filter of the water purifier are provided to extend the lives of a pump and an input pressure sensor by reducing the frequency of a flushing function.CONSTITUTION : A method for washing the filter of a water purifier includes the following : a re-purifying process is implemented to supplement water in a water storing tank(S100); a time required for a flushing operation for washing the filter of a water purifier is calculated(S200); and a flushing valve is opened for the calculated flushing time, and the filter is washed(S300).
