Derivative ceramics comprise : as a main component, main phase particles having a perovskite type compound including Ba, Ca and Ti; and at least first heterogeneous phase particles containing Ca, a rare earth element and Si. Second heterogeneous phase particles not containing Ca and containing a rare earth element and Si are 0.05 or less (including 0) in terms of the ratio of the number of the second heterogeneous phase particles with respect to the total of the numbers of the first heterogeneous phase particles and the second heterogeneous phase particles. The first heterogeneous phase particles preferably has a Ca content of 8% or more in terms of molar ratio with respect to the total content of Ca, rare earth element and Si. Derivative ceramic layers (6a-6g) are formed with this derivative ceramics. According to the present invention, a sufficient high temperature load life can be obtained even when the derivative ceramic layers are thinned to about 1 μm and applied with a high electrical field for extended periods of time, and derivative ceramics having a desired high reliability and a laminated ceramic capacitor using same can be achieved. |
