FIELD : metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE : invention relates to metallurgical production, particularly, to metallurgy of non-ferrous metals and alloys intended for production of cobalt stock for production of isotopic products. Vacuum induction remelting is performed by electrolysis of cobalt with deoxidation of melt with aluminum of grade A99 in amount of 0.001–0.15 wt. % and modification of nickel magnesium ligature and mischmetal of MC50Zh6 grade in amount of 0.001–0.10 wt % of each, casting the obtained melt to obtain a cobalt ingot, which is heated and subjected to multi-step forging with a stitch coefficient of 10–15 units, on hammers to produce a workpiece in the form of a strip for further hot and cold rolling.
EFFECT : invention reduces gas saturation of the metal and enables to obtain a strip of cobalt K0-VI, K1Ay-VI or K1A-VI with high mechanical and service properties.
