PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a light-emitting apparatus in which optical behaviors of fluorescent glass are effectively utilized.
SOLUTION : A light-emitting apparatus 1 comprises a light source 3 and a glass phosphor 7 with rare earth ions forming a light-emission center contained in the matrix thereof, including an incidence surface 7a to which light emitted from the light source 3 is made incident, and an emission surface 7b from which wavelength-converted light is emitted. In the glass phosphor 7, at least a portion of a side surface 7c forms a slope which is inclined with respect to an optical axis 7d so as to expand from a light incidence side to a light emission side.
