[1] A masterbatch comprising alkali and/or alkaline compounds (A) and a polyamide (X) that includes carboxylic acid units and diamine units, at least 70 mol% of which are meta xylylene diamine units, wherein the average particle diameter of the alkali and/or alkaline compounds (A) is 50 μm or less, the number of particles having a particle diameter in excess of 80 μm in a 5 mm2 cross-section of the masterbatch is 1.5 or less, and the sum (m) of the values obtained by multiplying the molar concentration of alkali metal atoms present in 1 g of the masterbatch and the molar concentration of alkaline rare earth metal atoms present in 1 g of the masterbatch by the respective valencies thereof is 60-1710 μmol/g, inclusive; and [2] a method of preparing a polyamide resin composition using the masterbatch described in [1]. As a result of using the masterbatch as recited in the present invention, it is possible to provide a polyamide resin composition that has an excellent appearance and color tone, and generates little gel during shaping. |
