简介 A rare earth magnet production method capable of efficiently diffusing Dy, etc., to the interior of a magnet in a short amount of time is provided. This rare earth magnet production method comprises : an arrangement step that arranges in close proximity a magnetic material that is a molded or sintered body of powder particles comprising a rare earth magnet alloy, and a diffusion material including a diffusion element that improves coercive force; and a diffusion step that exposes the magnetic material, which has been heated, to a vapor of the diffusion element, which has been evaporated from the diffusion material which has been heated, and causes the diffusion element to be diffused inside the magnetic material. Said method is characterized by the diffusion step being a step that heats the diffusion material independently from the magnetic material, to a diffusion material temperature (Td) that is different to a magnetic material temperature (Tm) which is the heating temperature for the magnetic material. As a result of this invention, the diffusion element can be efficiently diffused inside the magnet even with only a very short heating time, by setting the magnetic material temperature (Tm) and the diffusion material temperature (Td) separately and performing diffusion.
