PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an intense light emitting rare earth complex excellent in emission properties and exhibiting sharp emission spectrum. SOLUTION : The intense light emitting rare earth complex is represented by general formula (1) (wherein, Ln is a rare earth atom; a, b and c are each a positive integer of ≤3 or 0, and all of them are not 0 at the same time; R1to R18may be the same as or different from one another, being each a 1-10C hydrocarbon group, wherein R1and R2, R3and R4, R5and R6, R7and R8, R9and R10, R11and R12, R13and R14, R15and R16, and R17and R18may each be bound to each other to form a cyclic structure; n is an integer of 1-5; Y1and Y2are each a 1-20C hydrocarbon, amino, hydroxy, nitro, sulfo, cyano, silyl, phosphono, diazo or mercapto group; and Z is a hydrogen or deuterium atom).
