PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a radiation-proof head separated type imaging device reconciling sufficient radiation shield and convenience. SOLUTION : In this radiation-proof head separated type imaging device, light coming from an light input section, after its light path is altered by an optical light path altering means, comes into an imaging surface of an imaging element 4 in an attachable/detachable cartridge-type inside apparatus 10. The imaging element 4 is arranged on a replaceable cartridge-type inside apparatus 10, so that only the cartridge-type inside apparatus is replaced. A radiation shield member containing rare heavy metal as principal component is employed. The thickness of the imaging surface of the imaging element and the thickness of the wall surface opposite to the back surface are greater than that of other parts.
