PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing a phosphor material, wherein water resistance (moisture resistance) is improved, and lowering of emission intensity after elapse of a fixed time in a wetting environment is suppressed.
SOLUTION : This method for producing a phosphor material includes a step of covering cores represented by a composition formula : M12a(M2bLc)M3dO4 with a layer having a polysiloxane linkage. In the formula, M1 is at least one selected from among alkali metals; M2 is at least one selected from between Ca, Sr and Ba; M3 is at least one selected from between Si and Ge; L is one or more selected from among rare earth elements, Bi and Mn, and contains at least Eu; a is ≥0.9 and ≤1.1; b is ≥0.8 and ≤1.2; c is ≥0.005 and ≤0.2; and d is ≥0.8 and ≤1.2.
