A organic substance treatment device is proposed which includes a cylindrical treatment tank (11) having a central raised portion on its bottom surface to create a step. An agitating vane unit (14) is provided on the raised portion. The vane unit is rotated counterclockwise if the device is located in the northern hemisphere of the earth to form a counterclockwise vortex in the liquid in the tank. By supplying air into the vortex, air is efficiently taken into the liquid. This increases efficiency with which organic substances is decomposed by aerobic microorganisms. |
