PURPOSE : A purifying method of a sulfonated aromatic monomer is provided to use material which is safe and easy to obtain, thereby providing a sulfonated aromatic monomer with high purity even in mild purifying condition.CONSTITUTION : A purifying method of a sulfonated aromatic monomer(1) in chemical formula 2 comprises : a sulfonation step manufacturing a compound(2) by reacting aromatic monomer(3) and a fuming sulfuric acid(4); a step of re-dissolving unpurified compound(1-1) into a water by adding salt to the compound; a step of neutralizing water solution containing the unpurified compound; and a step of re-crystallizing the neutralized water solution under water condition.
