PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a continuous casting method of steel, which method hardly causes the choke of a nozzle even when REM has been added into molten steel. ŽSOLUTION : In the continuous casting method of steel, molten steel is poured into a casting mold via one or more nozzles, and cast ingots are successively taken out from the lower portion of the casting mold. The molten steel contains 0.0003 mass% or more of REM (rare earth element), and 0.1 mass% or more of Al, and further is adjusted such that the ratio of the concentration of the REM to the concentration of Al in the molten steel satisfies the following condition, Al/REM>20, and further a refractory material containing 10 mass% or more of CaO is arranged on at least one of the nozzles in at least part of the internal surface to be brought into contact with the molten steel.
