FIELD : chemistry.SUBSTANCE : invention relates to sewage treatment and can be used in treating sewage using sludge fields, preferably in cases when a dense sewage sludge is formed. The condensed solid phase of sewage sludge is brought into contact with an alkali or alkali-earth metal polyacrylate in ratio ranging from 0.9 to 3.3 kg polyacrylate to one tone of the condensed solid phase. The polyacrylate has molecular weight higher than 3000000.
