PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a catalyst for producing light olefins, the activity of which is hardly deteriorated and which has a long service life, and to provide a method for producing the catalyst in a simple method to be industrially executed, and further to provide a method for producing light olefins stably over a long period of time by using the catalyst.
SOLUTION : The catalyst for producing light olefins is a pentasil-type zeolite catalyst for producing light olefins, and has a maximum value within a range of 0.6-2.0 nm of a pore size distribution curve measured by a nitrogen adsorption method, 0.2-1.0 μm particle size of a primary particle and 0.05-5 atom ratio of the alkaline earth metal atoms to the aluminum atoms in zeolite. The method for producing the catalyst is provided. The method for producing light olefins by using the catalyst is also provided, in which the light olefins are produced from 1-20C oxygen-containing organic compounds.
