PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an integrated optical waveguide capable of guiding various wavelength light.SOLUTION : The optical waveguide includes : a barrier layer 102 formed over a substrate 101; and a propagation part 103 which is a monocrystal ReO(Re : rare earth) formed over the barrier layer 102. The barrier layer 102 is formed of a material through which excited electrons in the propagation part 103 do not propagate. Electrons of rare earth ion in the propagation part 103 excited by incident light three-dimensionally spreads in the propagation part 103 due to a known energy mobile mechanism.SELECTED DRAWING : Figure 1 |
