A composition for manufacturing an optically transmissive material and a light-diffusing shell consisting of an optically transmissive material relate to lighting engineering. The optically transmissive material comprises a thermoplastic polymer, phosphor particles activated by a rare earth metal, and additives which prevent decomposition of the composition during the formation of a light-diffusing shell from a melt and make it possible to maintain the optical properties of the shell over a prolonged period of use. The additives used are : a thermal stabilization mixture, a deactivator and a compatibilizer; yttrium aluminium garnet doped with neodymium can be used as the phosphor. |
