PURPOSE : A pointer recognition method according to the movement of a finger and control command recognition method thereof are provided to improve the convenience of a user by controlling the program of a portable information terminal through the movement of a finger.
CONSTITUTION : A video acquisition apparatus which is installed at the rare surface unit of a portable information terminal acquires video including a finger area(S101). A binary video is created by performing binary-coding for the video including the finger area. An image is created by eliminating noise. The contour line of the finger area is extracted from the image(S105). The center line of the finger area is extracted from the contour line of the finger area(S107). The end part of the center line is extracted from the finger area using a pointer(S109).
