The engine (12) has an air supply line (14) provided with an exhaust gas re-circulation loop (10). A particle filter (26) is arranged in a cylinder head (24). The line has a supercharged air cooler (44) to cool a part of gas circulating in the loop by coolant. A catalytic phase of the filter has an active oxidation phase including elements selected from transition metal oxides and/or rare earth oxides. The phase has a zeolite type material and a noble metal selected from platinum and/or palladium. The filter is formed of a metal structure e.g. wire mesh. |
