PURPOSE : A fuel cell system and a cold start method thereof are provided to quickly thaw a purge valve and a hydrogen recirculation valve in cold starting and to reduce energy consumption of a low voltage battery for heating the valve. CONSTITUTION : A fuel system equipped with a sub-purge valve comprises : a fuel cell stack creating an electrical energy through an electrochemical reaction of hydrogen of a fuel and oxygen of air; a hydrogen supply device(10) supplying the hydrogen to the fuel cell stack; and a separate sub-purge valve(14) discharging nitrogen and droplet, which are accumulated in a hydrogen electrode, to a hydrogen supply line(11). |
