PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an epoch-making method which enables an adverse effect of poisoning to be avoided by suppressing accumulation of sulfur while maintaining a high activity of catalyst even under a high-temperature environment.
SOLUTION : This catalyst carrier includes a rare earth element serving as the core, zirconia surrounding the rare-earth element, and titania surrounding the zirconia. A part of the rare earth element is solid-dissolved into the zirconia.
