PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth permanent magnet having sufficient impact resistance for shock repeatedly applied and also having superior corrosion resistance, and also to provide a motor using the same.
SOLUTION : The rare earth sintered magnet includes a magnet body 11 and a covering layer formed on the front surface of the magnet body. The covering layer includes a prismatic crystal 13 having grown within the range of ±10° in the vertical direction for the magnet body and a twin crystal 14 having grown from the prismatic crystal in the direction different from that of the prismatic crystal. An existence ratio of the prismatic crystal is ≥20% and ≤80% for the covering layer formed on the front surface of the magnet body.
