A paper dispenser for dispensing paper (P) sheet by sheet, the paper projecting from the dispenser housing (1) in an operational position so that it can be pulled off from a supply roll by hand, has a delivery roller (4) driven by the web of paper that is being pulled. A stop (10) which is moved from a rest position to a blocked position against the force of a return spring (13) blocks the rotation of the delivery roller (4) so that the sheet is torn off due to the pulling power, and is slowed down by a braking device (8) when returning to the rest position. A re-delivery device (20) is designed to further drive the delivery roller (4) once the sheet has been torn off and completes the rotation in a time-delayed manner so that the paper (P) projects from the dispenser housing (1) and can be pulled again. |
