PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a single-phased phosphor for illumination, in the case of using a light source emitting the ultraviolet light of especially having 250 to 260 nm wavelength as an exciting light source, emitting white-colored light having a wide band continuous light-emitting spectrum close to that of sun light, also without using a rare metal and having a high efficiency and a high color-rendering property.
SOLUTION : This single-phased phosphor emitting the white-colored light as the continuous spectrum in 380 to 720 nm wavelength visible light range by being excited with the ultraviolet light having 250 to 260 nm wavelength is provided by containing bismuth as an activator, or the bismuth and manganese as a double-activator.
